龍井茶始產于宋代，明代益盛。在清明前採制的叫“明前茶”，穀雨前採制的叫“雨前茶”。向有“雨前是上品，明前是珍品”的說法。龍井是中國十大名茶之一，又是名優綠茶之首。其中西湖龍井茶更有四絕之稱：色綠、香郁、味甘、形美。

此茶乾茶色美、湯色清洌、板栗幽香四溢、入口飽滿豐郁、甘醇柔甜。高山手工茶更是層次豐富，也比一般龍井更耐泡。

Longjing tea was first produced in the Song Dynasty and flourished in the Ming Dynasty. The tea picked before the Chingming Festival is called "Mingqian tea" i.e. Pre-Ching Ming, and the tea picked before the Grain Rain is called "Yuqian tea" i.e. Pre-Grain Rain. There is a saying that “Pre-Grain Rain”is the top grade, and “Pre-Ching Ming”is the treasure". West Lake Longjing tea is known as four unique teas: green in color, rich in fragrance, sweet in taste and beautiful in shape.
This tea is sweet and delicate with obvious nutty aroma and lingering aftertaste. Tea liquor is clear and transparent, light yellow-green in color, very refreshing and pleasant and no bitterness; while alpine hand-fried tea gives more complex flavour and able to provide more infusion.
